Flash In The Brain Pan: The Pinball Adventure

Loyal readers know that the Woot team is full of serious pinball fans. So you can take our word for it: The Pinball Adventure is a pretty great digital table.

 

 

As you're probably noticing already, The Pinball Adventure combines pinball concepts with RPG/shooter play. As you go for points, you'll grind the missions listed over on the right, ranging from things like "kill 20 fairies" to the classic "lock three balls". The flippers respond pretty well, especially if you grew up playing on a broken machine at the local Putt-Putt, and pinball lifers will be happy to know that it's completely possible to score a million points and then lose the next two balls instantly. Just like the real thing! Oh, and every now and then you'll get a level boss.

 

 

It goes without saying that The Pinball Adventure really makes you wish that all those grab-and-gut dot com investors had stayed away from Bally and Stern, but for people jonsin' to be at a table, it's a great stopgap. At least you'll save a quarter each time you play. After a thousand games, that will really add up!
